What are the TESOL Awards?

The TESOL Colombia Awards are a premier recognition program that celebrates the individuals, projects, and innovations that are transforming English Language Teaching (ELT). Hosted as part of the TESOL Colombia VII Conference, the awards showcase inspiring stories, impactful educational initiatives, and groundbreaking innovations that are shaping the future of language education in Colombia and beyond. Nominees present their proposals during the conference, and winners are recognized during the official TESOL Awards Ceremony.

The awards are designed to highlight excellence, inspire the ELT community, promote innovation, and provide visibility to educators, institutions, entrepreneurs, and changemakers whose work is creating meaningful impact in language learning.

The Best ELT Changemaker Award

Recognizing exceptional educators, leaders, and professionals who are driving positive change in English Language Teaching through leadership, advocacy, innovation, collaboration, and transformative educational practices. This award celebrates individuals whose work inspires growth and meaningful progress within the ELT community.

Honoring outstanding ELT projects that have generated significant educational impact and inspired positive change within institutions and communities. Projects may focus on bilingualism, inclusion, learner engagement, curriculum innovation, teacher development, or other initiatives that demonstrate remarkable outcomes and influence. Inspired by the long-standing TESOL Colombia project award tradition.

The Most Innovative in ELT EdTech Award

Celebrating innovative educational technology solutions that enhance language learning and teaching. Eligible nominations may include platforms, software, AI-powered tools, applications, devices, digital resources, or other EdTech innovations that demonstrate creativity, effectiveness, and measurable impact in ELT.

How to Participate

Participating in the TESOL Awards is simple:

Complete your conference registration and select the corresponding registration category for Award nominees.

Submit Your Application

Complete the online nomination form for the category that best matches your work. Self-nominations and colleague nominations are welcome.

Prepare Your Pitch

Create a compelling 5-7 minute presentation that highlights:

  • The challenge, need, or opportunity identified.
  • The solution, initiative, project, or innovation implemented.
  • The impact achieved and evidence of results.
  • Why your contribution deserves recognition and can inspire others.

Present at TESOL Colombia VII
